This is greatnews, glad to see another update.. was getting a bit too quiet over here :)

I’m really looking forward to the HTML5 launcher. Hopefully we as users will be able to fiddle around with it as well with our own custom made apps/plugins :)

I owned a Futjitsu P1610 wich WiFi connexion works with a previous version of Jolicloud (based on Broadcom chipset), and if the propriatory driver is recognised and actived, I can’t connect to the internet anymore …. ^^
I have checked all the parameters and configuration but with no result.
Can you help ?

As I have no ethernet connexion available at the moment, I cannot do any upgrade at all !

Do you also think you can handle the serial touchscreen for this machine ?

Best regards

What do you mean by cleaning the cache browser ?

- If you have a hardware switch on your device, make sure it’s ON.
- If Wifi is mentionned in BIOS, make sure it’s ON.
- If a Network icon is displayed in the top panel, right-click on it and make sure Networking and Wireless are enabled.
- Make sure you’re up-to-date (use Ethernet).

This is a cute idea. I feel like it needs more options and other games that maybe iroanporcte the photo booth idea more. Otherwise, it would be a wasted investment for the school if all students get out of it is pictures of them with bunny ears or a clown wig. Also, where are your other two iterations? It would be nice to see them, so that I can critique what ideas work best in your designs and you could iroanporcte them in one touchscreen later. It would also be nicer for your group members, so they will have more to work from once it’s their turn to work on the touchscreen.??? ()

I got the live version running on an Asus EeePc T91 right now. I’m trying and so far Jolicloud seems nice. I got a problem though. The touchscreen… works. But as opposed to the way it works on conventional touchscreen devices like Iphone or the touch capabilities provided on PC’s with windows, my touchscreen instead acts like it’s a giant touchpad. i.e. if i tap my finger anywhere on the screen, the mouse cursor doesnt move to where my finger is tapped but instead it just detects my tap but it responds as a click at the location of the mouse cursor. And the cursor moves with my finger movements on screen, but just not aligned with my fingertip. In short, it acts like the touchscreen is a giant touchpad.

Is this how it is supposed to work? Or it is just because im running a LIVE session from the USB stick now?

    Asus T101MT here.

Having trouble following the touchscreen calibration program’s directions. After launching and pressing ok, it takes me to the calibration screen. It says to draw along all edges…do I draw an outline around the screen before pressing enter to tap the X’s sequentially? The wording on the directions prior to the calibration screen are not written very clearly :(

The reason I ask is no matter what I try, when I complete the process and restart, touching the screen always results in the cursor being in the upper left corner and I cannot move it anywhere. But the fact it recognizes the tap tells me the drivers work…I’m just unable to calibrate it properly. (?)

If anyone is more familiar with this process please let me know, or point me to another thread somewhere I haven’t found yet. New jolicloud user here, this is pretty impressive stuff.

I really like the interface of Joli OS, and I think that it is the Linux distro that will certainly suit my needs, but I have only one problem that is making me look elsewhere. I have a Fujitsu Siemens Stylistic ST5020d from who knows when that has a Wacom Penabled screen. I have used Ubuntu, Xubuntu, and Kubuntu without any problem with the Wacom screen (installed Cellwriter, etc. and it’s the perfect computer for sitting on the couch). I wanted something more point and click and more “mobile” with files saved elsewhere, etc., so I tried Joli OS, but it has proved absolutely impossible to make the Penabled stylus function or even be recognized. I don’t really understand this fact since when I enter the Synaptic Package Manager and search for “wacom” it shows that I have the xserver-xorg-input-wacom package installed (exactly the same packages that I find in all the other Ubuntu distros I have), and yet it still draws a blank. The rest of the hardware functions without flaw. Does anybody have a suggestion regarding possible fixes to make this marriage possible, or should I just wait for a compatible release?

Nicely done, as usual, Tyler. My issue with these tastings is slightly different than the obsession w/ points or iding the wine. The larger trouble seems to me that such a short time spent on tasting, without the benefit of food, cannot do the wine justice. Every fine wine I have ever had has evolved over the course of a meal. The evolutionary quality may be one of the essential qualities of a fine wine. It seems that rating wines in flights w/o getting a chance to go back to the wine over time (preferably over the course of a meal) cannot possibly nail it. I remember one informal tasting I attended in a wine writers home where we tasted 8-10 bottles before dinner, took notes, ate dinner and then returned to the wine again. None of the tasters/note takers were able to correctly identify more than half of the wines tasted before dinner. I fear that blind tastings often treat wine as if it is dead. It is not.
